For children in Years 1 & 2 and Year 3 - Year 6
Our Drama Show Camps offer an exciting opportunity for children to join the cast of our specially created Shows. Along with daily rehearsals, our Show Camps include fun and creative activities especially chosen to develop self-confidence, focus and concentration.
Dramarama Show Camps encompass a wide-range of performance arts training and introduce children to a variety of genres, themes and styles, with an introduction to Musical Theatre. Children will learn songs, scenes and dances from family-friendly musicals. Different themes will be included on each Show Camp, so that content is not repeated. We create unique Shows based on both new and familiar characters and stories that children - and parents! - know and love.
At the start of each Show Camp, we have the pleasure of creating a bespoke cast list, to suit the unique make-up of the particular group of children attending. Casting is made as equal as possible, so that everyone works together as a team, and no one is overwhelmed. All children are included in every song and dance routine, encouraging full group participation and giving everyone the chance to shine!
Each group works with their Drama Teacher, who casts, directs and choreographs, and a Musical Director, who teaches song lyrics and music, and supports the rehearsals. There is also a Drama Assistant on hand to support and encourage the children daily throughout the camp.
Rehearsals take place daily, and children are provided with a script. Children are also given the opportunity to experience a ‘Dress Rehearsal’ before Show Day, where they can demonstrate their acting, singing and dancing flair and capability to another group attending the camp.
Show Days
Shows take place on either Thursday or Friday afternoons, 2pm-3pm.
Thursday Show Days are followed by a 'Friday Fun Day' of Drama Workshop games and activities. Parents are informed of the Show Day in advance of the camp start date.
Children attend our Show Camps in groups of other children of the same age. Our camps provide the perfect environment for children to make new friends, but if they attend with friends of the same age, they can be in the same group.
We ask that parents provide a clearly named, nut-free packed lunch each day, along with a named, refillable water bottle. Children should also bring a pencil so they can write their moves on their scripts.
Children should wear comfortable clothing, please ensure that all removable
clothing is clearly named.
