  • Before the start of the course, if a child becomes unwell and/or shows symptoms of/tests positive to Covid-19 and/or has been in contact with someone who has symptoms/tests positive, parents must inform Dramarama immediately and the child is not permitted to join the course.

  • While the courses are in attendance, parents must inform Dramarama immediately if their child becomes unwell and/or tests positive and/or shows symptoms of Covid-19 or has been in contact with someone who has symptoms/tests positive.

  • If a Dramarama staff member has been in contact with someone who has symptoms, or develops their own symptoms, they will not come to the venue, and will inform Dramarama immediately.

  • In all cases above, all parents in the bubble will be contacted immediately by Dramarama, the course for the bubble will be cancelled from that point - credit notes will be issued for full, unspent days. Please note, we do not offer refunds.

Structure of Drama Courses

  • If a child cannot attend due to general illness or any other reason, we will provide a credit note for any full, unspent days at Dramarama's discretion. We do not offer refunds.

  • Registration/drop-off is a hands-free process. Each group will be met at a designated drop-off point by their class teacher and assistant, to minimise queues, and groups congregating. You will be informed by email of your drop off and collection points before the start of the course. Please ensure that this information is passed on to all adults who are dropping-off/collecting on your behalf.

  • Course times are scheduled to ensure that groups arrive and leave at different times, with staggered drop off and collections, to avoid groups of parents/carers gathering at the same time in the same area. Please do not arrive more than five minutes before your child’s drop-off and collection times, as there will be another group of parents/carers dropping-off/collecting then.

  • If you are more than 5 minutes late for drop-off, please take your child to the late drop off point.

  • Parents/carers cannot enter the school site at any time and are not permitted to use the school’s toilet facilities, for themselves or a sibling/other child who is not attending the course.

  • One Dramarama teacher and an assistant will be allocated per bubble, as required for each age group. All Dramarama staff will wear visors for the duration of the course.

  • Bubbles will not mix, and they will operate independently of each other.

  • Dramarama will not provide any equipment for the courses. If scripts are required, Dramarama will email parents to print off scripts for their child(ren).

  • Dramarama courses will take place in a well-ventilated indoor space.

  • Each bubble of children will be taken for a toilet/hand-washing trip at the start and end of each session. Dramarama teachers will assist individual children to the toilet during the day as necessary and ensure effective hand washing is carried out (as below). If available, each bubble of children will be allocated their own toilet facilities for the duration of the course.

  • Bubbles will be allocated specific, selected areas for their break and lunch times where possible.

  • Dramarama will provide a first aid kit, and Dramarama staff will wear clean plastic gloves when administering first aid.

  • Dramarama will not present any end of week shows until the Government guidance determines that audiences can be invited.

  • Children and staff may not remove their shoes at any time.

  • Dramarama staff may not leave the school premises at all during the day.

  • Dramarama staff must bring in nut-free food for lunch and snacks.

Social Distancing

  • Dramarama will adhere to the latest Government approved advice regarding social distancing.

  • All creative activities will be socially distanced.

  • All Dramarama staff members agree to enforcing the latest social distancing guidance between staff members and children at all times.

  • Parents/carers are not permitted on site at any time, for any reason.

  • As parents/carers are not permitted to gather together, we cannot invite parents/carers on site to watch and end of week Show as we have done for previous Dramarama courses.

  • Please do not drop off or arrive more than five minutes before the start/end of your child’s course as this will coincide with the timings for parents/carers arriving for other courses.

Effective Hand Washing

  • Dramarama and the venue will provide adequate hand washing and drying facilities including soap, warm water, paper towels and bins for safe disposal.

  • Dramarama staff will wash their hands upon arrival and exit and will carry an anti-bacterial hand sanitiser and tissues for use during the session.

  • Dramarama staff will oversee children effectively washing their hands upon arrival and throughout the day as required.

  • All children are taken on regular toilet breaks and our staff are on hand to help the children wash and dry their hands as necessary.

  • Dramarama staff will ensure that children apply hand sanitiser throughout the day.

Please also note: All pre-school / nursery children must be fully toilet trained and able to use the toilet facilities independently. Our staff do not enter the toilet cubicle and cannot provide intimate care. Children cannot attend the course wearing nappies or pull-ups.

Lunch and Snack Time

  • Parents must provide named nut-free packed-lunches, snacks, and drinks. Please ensure your child’s name is clearly visable on their items as many children have the same/similar lunchboxes and containers. Please ensure that food items such as grapes, sausages and cherry tomatoes are sliced as they are a choking hazard if eaten whole.

  • Parents must provide all food and drink in named packets or containers that can be opened and closed by your child.

  • If a Dramarama teacher has to help open wrappers, lunch boxes or flasks, a new pair of latex gloves will be worn and discarded immediately afterwards. Dramarama staff will always endeavour to help the children with their belongings, but please ensure your child’s practises opening their own items beforehand, to minimise contact with their items.

  • Children will eat lunch in their bubble, and bubbles will not mix at any time during the day.

  • Bubbles will be assigned specific seating areas in the dining room which will not be shared with other groups.

  • Each bubble must keep their table and surrounding area as tidy as possible.

  • Each bubble will be allocated a separate outdoor area for break times that is separate from other bubbles. Playtime is scheduled on a rota to ensure that they are kept separate.
